1D’s Louis Tomlinson injured in charity match at Celtic Park
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson was injured in a football game at Celtic Park last night after Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor brought him to the ground.
The you singer was taking part in a match to honour former Celtic footballer Stiliyan Petrov who recently retired from football following a year-long battle with leukaemia.
A Celtic XI led by Martin O’Neill lost 5-3 to Kenny Dalglish’s Stiliyan XI in the game at Celtic Park, Glasgow.
Tomlinson was tackled by Agbonlahor in the 52nd minute of the match and was seen limping before being substituted.
O’Neill revealed that the One Direction star vomited after he left the pitch.
“Agbonlahor smashed into him and he picked himself up and he was ill at the dressing room area,” said O’Neill.
“He has rushed off now but I think he is fine – he doesn’t know where he is but I think he is fine.”
Agbonlahor added that he would apologise to Tomlinson, saying: “It was one of those things. I’ll apologise to Louis when we meet up with everybody after the game.”
The footballer has received threats from One Direction fans following the incident.
Proceeds from the charity match will go to the Stiliyan Petrov cancer charity foundation and the Trussell Trust.
