Jelavic reveals Manchester United interest
Nikica Jelavic has claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing him from Rangers this summer.
The Croatian forward, who moved to Ibrox from Rapid Vienna for £4 million last August, says his representatives have made him aware that the English Premier League champions are planning a bid for his services. He said that while he remains a Rangers player for now, he would think about a move this summer after only a year in Glasgow.
“I know that United are interested,” Jelavic told the Croatian press. “My agent has established contact but that’s all that I know right now.
“He has mentioned a figure of 15 million euros and I came to Rangers for five million euros, so it would be a big gain for the club.
“However, I would only think of a transfer in the summer.”
With Rangers closing in on a third successive Scottish Premier League trophy, Jelavic insisted he was concentrating on getting the points required against Kilmarnock to seal the win. He said that he would particularly relish title success after scoring 16 league goals this term.
“I’m fine here and enjoying every moment,” he added “The Rangers fans give me goosebumps. They really love me now.
“I am looking forward to the Kilmarnock game on Sunday. If we win that match, it will be the first title that I have won where I have been one of the key figures. I would call it my first real title.”
