Rihanna intimidated by Battleship role
Rihanna has admitted that she was “intimidated” by her role in Battleship.
The Bajan singer revealed that she had reservations about taking on her first acting job as she was working alongside those who had been involved in the film industry for years.
In an interview with MTV News alongside her Battleship co-stars Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker, RIhanna was asked whether she was excited to hit the big screen.
“I’ll answer this, because it’s probably uncomfortable for them to say no, but I was the one that was intimidated,” she explained.
“There was nothing for them to be intimidated about. I was the wreck. I was a wreck, just like, scared to s**t. Especially when Liam Neeson showed up to set.”
However, Rihanna went on to say that she was glad for the experience and developed a bond with Kitsch while filming, adding: “You know, we have a mutual respect for each other’s industry. I was walking into this as an amateur – a complete amateur.
“I didn’t know anything and I had a good team to learn from. I watched them, and especially Taylor, ’cause we did a lot of scenes together and he would always offer me advice.”
Rihanna was recently rumoured to be joining the cast of The Fast and the Furious 6.
