No return for The Inbetweeners
The Inbetweeners star James Buckley has stated that the E4 series is unlikely to return.
Buckley – who played Jay Cartwright in the sitcom – was recently reported to have hinted about a fourth series being planned, which would include a major character death, however, co-creator Iain Morris later denied the rumours, calling them “total b*llocks”.
Buckley reiterated that the reports were unfounded, telling NME: “I’ve not been spoken to about it at all. I’ve had interviews in the paper just completely made up.
“I’ve not spoken to anyone for six months. There was an interview in the Daily Star where I was quoted saying we were going to do a fourth series and one of the characters was going to die, which wasn’t true.”
He added: “There are no plans to do any more, unfortunately. I think that will be the last you see of The Inbetweeners.”
The cast was last seen together in the big-screen Inbetweeners Movie, which was released in August 2011.
