Joey Barton planning a tell-all book

QPR’s Joey Barton has revealed that he is working on a tell-all book.

The footballer, notorious for his prison stint and outspoken nature, announced on Twitter that he is having meetings with a ghostwriter.

“Looking forward to having dinner with my friend, who as it happens is writing my autobiography,” he posted. “Got a few more tales for him tonight…”

He then asked: “I wonder what things people would want to read about in the book. Ask me/Tell me. I will try to fit them all in! #bartonbio.”

The announcement comes a week after Barton threatened to “expose” ex-footballer Gary Lineker during a row on the social networking site.

The feud began when Barton objected to Match of the Day’s Alan Shearer denouncing his sending-off in QPR’s Premier League match with Manchester City on May 13, leading to the presenter saying: “Still raging then? Still kicking out? And still, presumably, misunderstood? But only by yourself I suspect.”

Barton hit back: “Do u wanna go there publicly ‘Mr Squeaky Clean’ ? Think u should have a look in that vast closet of skeltons before u respond (sic).

“I know a lot about THAT side to u the people don’t and won’t bat an eye lid at exposing u…So mind ur manners Squeaky… now back under your stone you odious little toad…”

Though Lineker has yet to comment on Barton’s book, celebrity football fanatic Danny Miller of Emmerdale tweeted minutes after the announcement that he was expecting a “boring autobiography… full of gangs, how hard you think you are, and ashtrays.. Yawn.”

Miller’s “ashtray” comment is seemingly a jibe at the 2004 incident in which Barton stubbed out a cigar in the face of a Manchester City colleague.
