Beckham to receive Uefa award
David Beckham will receive an award for collecting more than international 100 caps at half-time during England’s friendly with Belgium.
Midfielder Beckham, 37, made the last of his 115 England appearances in 2009.
He will receive a cap and medal from Uefa at Wembley on 2 June, along with Sir Bobby Charlton and Peter Shilton.
Family members of the late Bobby Moore and Billy Wright will receive the award from Football Association chairman David Bernstein.
Uefa wants to honour every player across Europe who has reached the milestone of playing more than 100 times for their country.
Now playing for LA Galaxy, Beckham is hoping to feature for Great Britain at the London Olympics.
