Dallas ratings continue to slump on Channel 5

Dallas’s ratings have continued to slump on Channel 5 hitting an all new low of just 327,000.

The US soap was dropped to the late-night slot of 11pm on Tuesday nights after viewing figures fell to 0.62 million for the second episode of season two, but the change in scheduling hasn’t stopped the show’s viewer decline further.

The overnight figures for Tuesday night’s (February 12) show reveal that only 327k watched the drama, on 5 with a further 54k watching on Channel 5 +1.

The revived US series – which stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Josh Henderson and Jesse Metcalfe – launched in 2012 on Channel 5 with nearly 3m viewers for its premiere.

Numbers declined steeply across the first series and the show is also struggling to match its early high ratings in the US, where it airs on TNT.

Some fans have expressed their anger at the time change by Channel 5, with one fan saying: “Ridiculous that they have moved it to a later time slot. They have just killed it for UK viewers. No promotion for season 2 compared to season 1. This is a great show. Complete bonkers!”

Another said: “Its soo good. I know alot of people like my mum and her friends dont stay up that late so cant watch it then. so they have to record or just not watch. Its such a shame. Its one of my fav shows at the mo. Channel 5 are a joke with there scheduling. What did the programme on c5 that replaced dallas in the 9pm hour get ratings wise??”
