Soulja Boy ‘buys $55m jet for 21st birthday’

Soulja Boy has celebrated his birthday by spending $55 million (£33.5m) on a private jet.

The ‘Crank That’ rapper turned 21 in style this week by purchasing a G5 aircraft, according to a member of his management team.

Soulja Boy bought the plane itself for $35m (£21.3m) and is now spending $20m (£12.1m) on a set of luxurious add-ons, including 12 custom-made Italian leather seats, flat-screen TVs and four liquor bars, reports TMZ.

He will also alter the aesthetics of the aircraft with a customised travertine-tiled floor, a revamped bathroom, Brazilian hardwood cabinets and an exterior paint job bearing his logo.

The ‘Kiss Me Thru The Phone’ star is also scheduled to throw a $300,000 (£183,000) birthday party in Miami tonight.

Dwight Howard, Bow Wow and Sean Kingston are expected to be in attendance.
