Taylor Swift leads Billboard Music Award winners
Taylor Swift scooped eight prizes at last night’s Billboard Music Awards, telling fans “you have been the longest and best relationship I’ve ever had.”
Scooping eight out of her 11 nominations, the country singer picked up the Top Artist trophy – beating off old love rival One Direction – along with the awards for Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and ‘Top Digital Songs Artist.
She also took home the awards for Top Country Artist, ‘Top Country Album and ‘Top Country Song.
Swift, who performed during last night’s show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, was pipped to the ‘Milestone award by Justin Bieber, who also won the awards for Top Male Artist and Top Social Artist.
Other major winners included Carly Rae Jepsen, who was presented with the award for Top Digital Song, and One Direction, who took home two prizes – Top New Artist and Top Duo/Group, Nicki Minaj was named Top Streaming Artist, and Madonna won Top Touring Artist.
