JLo says BGT producers asked for revealing outfit

Jennifer Lopez got a bit of a bum deal after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, with viewers taking to social networking sites and Ofcom to view their shock at the superstars revealing stage outfit.

The singer performed on the ITV talent show on Tuesday wearing a black bodysuit, skin coloured tights, thigh high boots and huge puff ball sleeves – the same outfit she had previously worn while performing at the Billboard Awards.

While she left hosts Ant and Dec, Simon Cowell and David Walliams with huge smiles on their face, many viewers felt they’d seen a bit too much of the 43-year-old.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1, Jennifer defended her choice of outfit: “I think people are so much raunchier than I am. I feel like I’m so tame.

“We wore it at Billboard and Britain’s Got Talent said they wanted exactly the same. So I thought I’d wear the outfit in black.

“No-one complained at Billboard. I think people just like to talk.

“It was a body suit. A lot of performers wear that these days. It is standard stage clothes. I’m not going to walk down the street like that!”

The star maintained she was wearing underwear below the raunchy costume, and admitted she suffered an injury thanks to her energetic performance.

“I’m a pro – I know what I’m doing. I would never take those types of risks or anything like that. You should see my knees. In rehearsals I really banged my knees up from sliding and dancing on the floor.

“Luckily with that outfit, which is why I wore it on Billboard and on Britain’s Got Talent, is that I can wear a very small knee pad underneath, because I have those tall boots. I was so happy that I could wear it as I was very raw from rehearsals and I cut it open the day before.”

Jennifer appeared on The Graham Norton Show alongside former cricketer Andrew Flintoff and comedian David Mitchell

While in town the singer will appear on tonight’s Graham Norton Show and will perform at this weekend’s Sound of Change Live gig.
