Neil Lennon closes in on new contract as Celtic boss
Neil Lennon is reportedly closing in on a new contract as Celtic boss.
Lennon has been holding talks with Hoops owner Dermot Desmond since the end of last season and hopes to have his one-year rolling contract extended.
“I spoke to Dermot in June. It was private, but it was a very fruitful conversation.
He is always looking for you to improve, but in the main he was pleased with the way things are going,” said Lennon.
“My future was discussed and how to take Celtic forward.
“We spoke about my own position and things went really well.
“There was speculation on my future, but it was only ever speculation. There was nothing in it at all. It is all systems go.
“It is still a one-year rolling deal I have now — but negotiations are ongoing and hopefully we will get something resolved within the next few weeks.”
Lennon also hopes to land new deals for coaches Garry Parker and Johan Mjallby.
