Chris Brown released from jail
Chris Brown has been released from jail after his charge for felony assault was reduced to a misdemeanour.
Brown was arrested on Sunday after he and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were accused of attacking a man outside the W Hotel in Washington, DC that morning.
At a hearing on Monday, the charges were reduced to simple assault. Brown and Hollosy were freed without bail after they pleaded not guilty.
“Christopher Brown committed no crime,” his lawyer, Danny Onorato, said in a statement.
“We understand that his security acted to protect Mr Brown and Mr Brown’s property as he is authorizsd to do under District of Columbia law. We are confident that Mr Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing.”
The alleged victim was treated for reported facial injuries in hospital but has now been released.
Brown is still on probation in relation to his 2009 assault of Rihanna.
He had been hosting an event in Washington, DC at the Park and 14th nightclub before the alleged incident.
