Simon Cowell reveals Louis and Cheryl never liked one another
Simon Cowell has revealed that Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini never liked each other.
It is the second time the 55-year-old music mogul has waded into the argument, which was prompted by former X Factor judge Louis dubbing Cheryl ‘lazy and irrelevant’ in an interview earlier this week.
Chatting on Good Morning Britain, Cowell revealed: ‘There was always going to be a clash.
‘They’ve never liked each other those two… [When Cheryl was in Girls Aloud] he was their manager. Now Louis managing a girl band, disaster, he just doesn’t do it well.’
Cowell recently compared the pair to quarrelsome cartoon characters Tom and Jerry on Wednesday.
‘They’re like Tom and Jerry these two,’ he said. ‘I wish they’d fight more on the show actually. Why do it on Twitter?
‘What we should do is just invite Louis down every week just to argue with Cheryl!’
Cheryl and Louis’ frosty relationship goes back 13 years to when she was a contestant on Popstars: The Rivals.
They later worked together on The X Factor for two series as judges.
Their recent argument stems from an interview Louis gave to heat earlier this week.
The 62-year-old said: ‘Cheryl wasn’t great last year. She’s sometimes lazy and lacks energy.
‘She needs to give more, she can give so much more. She’s irrelevant these days.’
