Former Top Gear presenters mock Chris Evans
Former Top Gear trio Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson have mocked the idea of Chris Evans hosting the fallen show.
The presenters joked on Twitter after Evans announced he was shooting a ‘secret Top Gear film’.
Evans spoke on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch yesteday, saying: ”We’re making a Top Gear – we’re doing a Top Gear sequence with an independent production company and we’re going to see how it goes.”
Writing on Twitter, Richard Hammond mocked Evans by saying: “Next week I’m doing a pilot of The Two Show on Fridays with an independent production company. We’ll see how it goes.”
Clarkson also added: “Next week, I’m doing a pilot Radio 2 breakfast show with an independent production company. We’ll see how it goes.”
May also joked: “I’m working on a new TV idea, with an independent production company, called TFI Thursday. We’ll see how it goes.”
Jeremy Clarkson was axed from his presenting role on Top Gear in March after being involved in a “fracas” with a producer.
His co-hosts Hammond and May have reportedly been offered £1 million deals to stay on the show.
There has been no official confirmation on who will host the show when it next returns.
