Supergirl to soar onto UK screens
Supergirl will soar onto UK screens later this month when the latest US Comic series hits Sky 1.
Melissa Benoist will add to Sky 1’s action packed series on Thursday, October 29 at 8pm.
This means that UK audiences will get to see new episodes of Supergirl just 3 days after the US, where the show will premiere October 26 on CBS.
“I am delighted to announce Supergirl is coming to Sky1. We’ve already seen in the success of The Flash and Arrow that comic-book characters are a big hit with our customers, and with this fresh, fast-paced new series, we’re giving them another sure-fire superhero smash,” said Adam MacDonald, director of Sky1.
Joining Glee and Whiplash star Benoist on the series are Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as James – not Jimmy – Olsen and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, who in the comics becomes the deranged Cyborg Superman.
Lucy Lane – sister of Lois – will also feature, played by Jenna Dewan-Tatum, while DC villains set to appear include Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli), Livewire (Brit Morgan), Red Tornado (Iddo Goldberg) and Non (Chris Vance).
