Mario Falcone had to dumb down for TOWIE
Mario Falcone has revealed he had to dumb down for TOWIE.
Appearing on TOWIE it would appear looking good tops the CV requirements with simple vocabulary coming a close second – according to ex star of the show, Mario Falcone that is.
The former cast member reckons he’s the Ross Geller of Essex, claiming that the show forced him to dumb-down his vocabulary so that his co-stars could understand him.
Talking to The Mirror, the 28-year-old said: “I had to dwindle it down a bit when I did TOWIE.
“Once I said the word ‘discombobulated’ and the whole crew said, ‘Mario you can’t say that’, and I was like, ‘Why?’
“They said, ‘The people who watch TOWIE won’t know what you’re talking about’. I confused Tommy Mallet!”
Mario, who quit the reality show last summer, continued: “I was a bespoke tailor before so I can’t speak to wealthy clients like ‘Aw right me geezer’ – it sounds horrible.
“When I was on This Morning for a segment, Holly Willoughby said, ‘Mario, I mean this in the nicest way possible – you’re really intelligent. I had no idea!’
“Thanks for the backhanded compliment. I am normal.”
He added that quitting the ITVBe programme had ‘brought my soul back from the devil’ but despite the criticism, claimed he did not regret his stint as a reality star.
“I learnt more in the four years on TOWIE than I would have done four years in real life.”
