Cheryl desperate to change her name ASAP after divorce

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is reportedly desperate to ditch her husbands name ASAP.

Cheryl, who is currently divorcing Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, who she married in a secret romantic ceremony on the Caribbean island of Mustique in July 2015, filed for separation shortly before Christmas (that same year) citing ‘unreasonable behaviour’.

A source told MailOnline that the singer is “eager to divorce her former partner as soon as possible so she can change her name and move on.”

The insider confirmed that the former X Factor judge would not be using any surname for work purposes as they added: “Cheryl has been using her first name professionally for some time.”

Following claims that the singer was allegedly stalling her divorce and planned to keep the French restaurateur’s last name, a source told the Mirror the suggestion was “completely ridiculous.” 

The insider continued: “Cheryl is the one that wanted a divorce and she is desperate for it to go ahead.

“There are reasons for that which will come out in due course. She wants a divorce as quickly as possible so she can change her name and move on.”

The publication claims that Cheryl will either revert back to her former marital surname, Cole, or her maiden name, Tweedy, once the divorce is finalised.

Cheryl is now dating One Direction’s Liam Payne.
