X Factor contestants rocked as bosses change theme at last minute
Frankie, Kitty and Janet and the gang have a stressful day ahead of them at the studio after the theme was changed from Heroes to rock.
X Factor bosses certainly know how to rock the boat on the show and this week, in a controversial move, they have suddenly switched the theme from Heroes to Rock.
It is hoped the edgier theme will ‘spice’ up the show and allow the acts to add more drama to their performances – Kitty Brucknell will be delighted!
A source told Digital Spy: “Producers wanted to spice things up a bit for viewers and they thought the return of Rock Week would provide plenty of drama. It will challenge some of the acts, who have had an easy ride so far.”
An official X Factor rep confirmed: “The change of theme weeks was a production team decision to take contestants out of their comfort zone. Production regularly change themes late in the day.”
On Monday, This Morning X Factor correspondent Jeff Brazier had hinted that this week was going to be a Motown and R&B theme.
He told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “I have it on good authority that we’re going to see a bit of Motown and R&B.” Not that ‘good authority’ then Jeff?
The change is sure to unsettle Frankie Cocozza who last week ended up in the bottom two when Gary Barlow changed his track just days before he was due to perform.
In soundcheck Frankie forgot the words and the drama of learning a new song so late in the day threw his performance and resulted in him nearly being booted off the show.
Gary Barlow has been taking extra time with Frankie this week to ensure the same thing doesn’t happen again.
We’ll find out which of the contestants rock when the show airs on Saturday at 8pm.
