NBA: Fisher seals it for the Lakers

Derek Fisher landed a decisive three-pointer with 3.1 seconds remaining to give the LA Lakers a narrow win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Jason Terry had tied the game moments earlier for the Mavericks, only for Fisher to strike with his long-range effort to secure a 73-70 win.

The Philadelphia 76ers continued to enjoy their home comforts with victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jrue Holiday scored 24 points and Andre Iguodala contributed 21 to help the 76ers to a 94-82 triumph.

Their ninth win in 10 games means they now hold a four-game lead in the Atlantic Division over the New York Knicks, who lost 102-93 at home to the Orlando Magic.

Ryan Anderson scored a career-high 30 points, including seven three-pointers, as the Magic completed a perfect four-game road trip.

Rudy Gay scored 24 points as the Memphis Grizzlies beat Chicago 102-86 to end the Bulls’ five-game winning streak.

Injury

The Bulls were again without leading scorer Derrick Rose, who missed his second game in the last four with a toe injury.

Josh Smith scored 28 points and added 15 rebounds to help the Atlanta Hawks win their third straight game with a 93-84 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Leandro Barbosa scored 22 points in a losing cause for the Raptors, who have now lost five in a row.

In Los Angeles, Blake Griffin picked up 23 points and 14 rebounds as the Clippers beat the New Jersey Nets 101-91.

The Nets wiped out a 13-point deficit to make it 81-81 with under seven minutes remaining, but the Clippers outscored them 20-10 from then on to seal the win.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 points as the Portland Trail Blazers ended a three-game losing run with an 84-77 victory over the New Orleans Hornets, while Kyrie Irving scored 25 points to lead theCleveland Cavaliers to a 102-94 win over the Charlotte Bobcats.

And the Washington Wizards slumped to 1-12 despite their highest total of the season, losing 114-106 at home to the Houston Rockets.

In Boston, Russell Westbrook scored 26 points to help the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Celtics97-88 for a seventh straight win.

The Celtics have now lost five in a row and the Sacramento Kings are almost as bad, losing for the fifth time in six games with a 99-86 defeat at the Minnesota Timberwolves.
