Demi Lovato won’t return to films until fully recovered
Demi Lovato has said that she is avoiding taking up any film jobs until she gets her private life back on track.
The singer and former Disney star explained she needs to concentrate on recovering from a stint in rehab before she delves completely back into her work.
Lovato has openly battled with image issues and entered rehab in winter 2010 to be treated for depression, an eating disorder and self-harming. She explained that she is worried her problems may resurface if she takes advantage of certain opportunities.
She told the Daily Mail‘s You magazine: “I know that I could be in a fragile state of mind if I go back in front of the camera; I’m not really confident enough.
“The camera adds 10 pounds and I feel like I have too many tattoos right now to go back on screen. I want to act again if they can find a way to cover my tattoos and one day I’d love to be respected as an actress.”
Demi also revealed in the interview that she intends to concentrate on her singing career. Her single ‘Skyscraper’ will be released on 27 February, taken from her new album Unbroken, out on 5 March through Hollywood Records
