Jorgie Porter slices partners head in rehearsal
Despite slicing open her partner’s head in rehearsal, Jorgie Porter knows the show must go on.
The petite Hollyoaks actress executed the perfect neck spin tonight on Dancing On Ice, soldiering on after the blade of her skating boot came into contact with Matt Evers forehead earlier in the day.
Matt was immediately rushed to hospital for stitches, before returning to the competition this evening to help Jorgie score 26.5 out of a possible 30 – and top the leaderboard.
After the performance to Bring Me To Life by Evanescence, the blonde beauty revealed: ‘I’d rather do the headbanger 14 times in a row than do that.’
Matt thanked Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill for their medical assistance and care, adding: ‘I had the best doctor in the world, there no scars expected and well done to Jorgie for carrying on.’
Robin gave a 9, crediting their pairing as ‘all-encompassing’, while Katarina, who also gave a 9, said: ‘For me to watch you, it’s always “Wow!” It was theatrical and even dark and very strong.
‘And Matt, you can have three more scars on your face and you still look beautiful.’
However Louie said the performance suffered and was ‘hesitant’ because of the earlier incident.
Jorgie was left in floods of tears after she accidentally cut Matt between the eyes with her blade as they practised the neck spin, which sees Porter wrap her legs around his throat.
She was inconsolable as her boot swiped across his head and stood on the ice with her head in her hands as he immediately sought medical attention.
And she could not be comforted as she skated over to his side with other contestants crowding round trying to calm her down.
Speaking to The Sun, an insider on the show said: ‘They’d rehearsed once without the mishap, but Matt warned Jorgie her blade was getting too close.
When they tried again she caught him and he cried out in pain.’
And he took to his Twitter page to thank those that had looked after him and said: ‘I am so blessed to be surrounded by the best, most professional and caring people in the world. U all know who u r and THANK YOU.
‘Thanks for the messages. WE WON’T LET THESE THINGS STOP US! All’s good here peeps. I’ve got the best team lookin after me and the best @misJORGIEPORTER shes been well bear today.’
