Ricky Whittle works up a sweat…again

The day before he flaunted his muscles during a topless run with his former Hollyoaks co-star, and it appears it is a regular thing for Ricky Whittle, as he exercised once again while showing off his impressive six-pack.

He was spotted walking in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles wearing just a pair of very low-slung grey trackpants.

The 30-year-old had a white towel tucked into his pants and clutched his iPod.

The day before, the Manchester-born star was seen with Jamie Lomas, 31, who looked rather miserable and even a little camera shy, deciding to keep his shirt on.

The British star – who has been in a relationship with Coronation Street star Kym Marsh since 2008 – was clearly not feeling as confident about his physique, especially next to Whittle.

Whittle, who left Hollyoaks in May 2010 after his character Calvin Valentine was killed off, is obviously doing well and this week took to his Twitter account to share his latest career move with his followers.

‘On set of single ladies this time next week so takin advantage of final days off!Gym & Runyon twice,now a jacuzzi soothe watching sunset :)’ he wrote.

However, his former co-star and friend Lomas, will be back home in the UK later on this month, just in time for his daughter’s first birthday.

It was reported that his relationship with Marsh was ‘on the rocks’ following his decision to relocate to Los Angeles, but yesterday the former Hear’Say star denied the rumours in her weekly column in new! magazine.

‘First of all, we’re not on the rocks,’ she wrote.

‘Secondly, we’ve never hidden the fact that things have been difficult for all of us with him being away, but he’s been painted as the villain of the piece.

‘The inference is that he’s abandoned me and it’s not like that at all. The decision for him to go to Los Angeles was a joint one and I knew how long for.’

Kym added that things have been considerably more difficult of late because her father has fallen ill.

‘Yes, it’s hard and I’m tired, and my dad being ill added to the stress, but I’ve got a really good network of family and friends to rely on.

‘Jamie will be back in time for our daughter Polly’s first birthday on March 23, which was always the plan.’
