Bachelor Gavin was boring, weird and spineless
They split unceremoniously earlier this year after apparently finding love on Channel 5 reality show The Bachelor.
But now Carianne Barrow has opened up about her relationship with Gavin Henson in a new interview, labelling the rugby player ‘boring and weird’.
The pretty 25-year-old blonde, who was chosen by Gavin as the winner of the programme last year, told Reveal magazine that she believes the sportsman never had real feelings for her.
Talking about their time together, Carianne said: ‘It was so boring. I’m really loud with a lot of energy, but when I was around him I had to dull myself right down.
‘If we weren’t sat in silence, we’d be talking about the weather. It made me realise just how little time we’d spent together on the show.
‘Gavin didn’t like it when I danced around the house, singing and having fun – he’d stare at me and ask if I was OK. He also stopped me from doing quite a few modelling or TV jobs, telling me it wasn’t good for my profile. I went along with it because I was in love.’
Carianne also said blasted Gavin’s skills in the bedroom, and said that he would only ever make love to her if the lights were off.
She said: ‘Gavin wasn’t affectionate. He is also really shy in the bedroom and likes to have the lights out.
‘He shaves his legs – they were smoother than mine – which I found quite weird and the sex soon started to dwindle. I felt I was second best to his rugby and exercise regime.’
And when it came to splitting from Gavin, Carianne said it was her who was forced to initiate the break-up.
She said: ‘He wasn’t interested in being with me any more and it was a really horrible feeling. I just couldn’t understand how it had gone from him declaring his undying love to barely speaking to me.
‘He didn’t even have the guts to dump me. If he had the guts to tell me he loved me on national TV then he should have had the guts to finish with me. Gavin was obviously trying to treat me badly so I’d do his dirty work for him. It was spineless.’
Carianne added that when she was with Gavin in real life, he was nothing like the way he used to be on the Channel 5 show.
She said: ‘Gavin, the boyfriend, was nothing like Gavin on The Bachelor. He seemed funny on the show and had a lot of banter but in reality he’s really dry. Gavin basically tricked me and the whole experience was fake.
‘If we’d stayed together, I just would have existed as his sidekick. Gavin will have a hard time finding a woman who is prepared to give up her life for him.’
