Adele uses acceptance speech to make dig at Brit bosses
Adele made the headlines last year when she gave the two finger salute to Brit Award producers after having her acceptance speech cut short, so this year she made sure to pay homage to that moment.
The singer, 24, poked fun at the situation at this year’s ceremony while accepting her prize for Best British Single for her Bond soundtrack Skyfall.
Adele was stopped from giving her thanks part way through her speech when collecting the award for British Album last year causing uproar with fans.
The star became so enraged that she flipped her middle finger out towards the crowd to show her anger.
However, Adele was given a better chance to express her gratitude this year by recording a video message which played live at the glamorous event.
The musician, who is currently in America preparing for the Oscars said: “Hello everyone thank you so much.
“Sorry I can’t be with you tonight but I’m in LA rehearsing for the Oscars.
“I don’t want to keep you too much because I don’t want to interrupt the best album speech at the end of the night.”
As the screen cut back to host James Corden, he referenced last year’s blunder, saying: “She’s definitely finished? She didn’t say anything else? Check the tape. 100 percent?”
