Agents of SHIELD Brett Dalton feels lucky to get Marvel role
Brett Dalton has said he feels incredibly lucky to be starring in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
The actor plays Grant Ward, a combat and espionage expert serving the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D).
“Nobody’s more lucky than me to get this part, and I know that I won the Lotto on this,” said Brett.
Executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen added: “When we saw Brett Dalton’s audition we all blurted out the words, ‘Cast him.’ He landed the humour and emotion of a man who isn’t used to playing with others with the right amount of subtlety.
“The guy also looks like a superhero, so there’s that.”
Brett is shrugging off feeling any pressure from being in such a hyped-up show.
“I’m sort of blissfully unaware of that,” he said.
“I see the billboards everywhere – how could you not? – and the ads, but my feet are still firmly on the ground.”
The TV spin-off of Avengers Assemble, also stars Clark Gregg, with Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet.
Agents of SHIELD begins on Channel 4 on Friday September 27 at 8pm
