Bass but no Buck as Meghan Trainer reveals she hasn’t made any money

She may have plenty of ‘bass’ but Meghan Trainor has revealed she’s yet to make any money from her debut hit single, All About That Bass.

The singer revealed that despite the song becoming an international hit, she has yet to receive any money from it.

“I haven’t made any money yet. They say I will get a big fat cheque after nine months which will be in April, so I’m hoping that’s right,” she told the Daily Star.

“People think I must be rich but I’m not. I haven’t been able to make a big purchase yet but I’m working on it.”

Trainor also spoke about her “cute acoustic” duet with Harry Styles, saying: “Harry is the best person to work with. Nice, funny and very normal.

“I would love to write together again and I think it will happen, absolutely. It would be amazing if they wanted me to write with [One Direction] for their next album. I just love writing, so I would love to.”

The singer’s debut album, Title, is out NOW.
