BBL: Glasgow Rocks Confirm Arrival of Mike Ringgold
The Glasgow Rocks have signed American Mike Ringgold to fill the current void down in the Scottish team.
The 25 year old American will be looking to make his mark in the BBL after a successful start to his career in Iceland where he averaged a double double of 15.2 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game. The Rocks will be hoping that he can replicate those numbers in a Rocks jersey.
Ringgold’s ability to finish under the basket is something that Coach Sterling Davis has been yearning for along with his knack for rebounding, a facet of the Rocks game which has been lacking during the early stages of the 2012/13 season.
Player/Coach, Sterling Davis said: “Ringgold is a versatile player who will be able to step in and help us defensively for multiple roles and also be a threat on the interior offensively. His athleticism will definitely give us a different look.”
Ringgold was flown into Glasgow on Tuesday and has already taken part in the Rocks preparations for their clash this weekend.
The first chance to see Ringgold and his new team-mates in action at the Emirates Arena will be at 1:00pm on Sunday 11th November when the Glasgow Rocks take on the visiting London Lions.
