Beyoncé fuels pregnancy rumours after cancelling Belgium gig
Beyoncé has fuelled rumours that she is pregnant with her second child after cancelling a Belgium tour date in her Mrs Carter World Tour.
A rep for the singer blamed the show cancellation on dehydration and exhaustion, explaining that the star is “awaiting word from her doctors before making a decision” about her second show at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp scheduled for tomorrow.
Reports that she is expecting her second child have been circulating for weeks, and after she was spotted a small bump at her London show last week, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive.
The New York Post claims that “multiple sources” at the Met Gala told them the star is pregnant, but another source told US Weekly that the rumours are “silly”.
Beyoncé famously announced her first pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2011, giving birth to Blue Ivy in January 2012.
She recently said: “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company,” adding that she may have another baby “after this next tour”.
Beyonce explained in a letter to her fans that cancelling the Belgium show was not an easy decision, while promising to make it up to them.
In the letter, posted on her Facebook page, she wrote: “To my dearest fans in Antwerp. I’ve never postponed a show in my life. It was very hard for me. I promise I will make it up very son. I’m sorry if I disappointed you.
“Thank you for your concern. I’m feeling much better now, and I’m ready to give you a great show. See you tonight. All my love, Beyoncé.”
