Blake Lively wows at Savages premier
Gossip Girl star Blake Lively stole the show last night at the LA premier of her latest movie Savages.
The 24-year-old actress has already made a name for herself as New York socialite Serena Van der Woodsen in hit show Gossip Girl, starred in movies The Town, Green Lantern and The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, as well as becoming the face of fashion brands Chanel and most recently being named as the new face of Gucci.
Blake brought Hollywood glamour to the carpet in a corset style Zuhair Murad couture tan gown with black linear detail.
The strapless dress clung to the actress’s slim figure, showing off her tiny waist.
She wore her blonde hair curled and loose over one shoulder, while bright red lipstick completed the look.
The star’s stunning style is made all the more impressive by the fact that, unlike other Hollywood stars, she has no personal stylist to help her with her red carpet looks.
She recently told Marie Claire: ‘My assistant will call fashion houses for me, but I always pick the outfit, shoes, jewellery, and a lot of times I do my own hair and make-up for events. ‘Sometimes I think, God, why do I do this to myself? It’s so much extra work.’
Blake told the U.S. publication that she likes to do her own styling because she ‘loves fashion.’
‘It’s such an expression of self,’ she added. ‘I often see people and they look great, but I can identify who styled them. Every stylist has a signature.
‘Maybe it sounds jerky, but I’m lucky to be on such a fashion-centric show [Gossip Girl]. There’s no designer I don’t have access to.’
Savages sees Blake play Ophelia ‘O’, the hippie girlfriend of two marijuana growers – Ben (Aaron Johnson) and former U.S. Navy SEAL Chon (Taylor Kitsch).
When O is kidnapped, Ben and Chon confront a Mexican drug cartel formally called the Baja Cartel, led by Elena Sanchez (Salma Hayek) and Miguel (Benicio del Toro) to rescue her.
John Travolta co-stars as a corrupt DEA agent Dennis, in the movie which is based on the Don Winslow novel of the same name.
Travolta also appeared on tonight’s red carpet, in one of a handful of public appearances he has made since being hit with two lawsuits from masseurs claiming the actor made sexual advances towards them during massages – although one claim was later withdrawn.
Despite various other people coming out of the woodwork making similar claims. Travolta has not addressed the allegations directly but his legal team has strenuously denied them.
Salma Hayek also added a splash of colour to proceedings, sporting a clinging shimmering jade green gown with matching earrings.
Savages is released in the U.S. on July 6
