Calvin Harris announced for Radio 1 Big Weekend

Calvin Harris will be whipping Glasgow Green into a frenzy as part of Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

The Scot is an unstoppable force in dance music and after wowing last year’s Big Weekend in Derry~Londonderry, Harris is back for more of the same energy-filled, ecstatic beats to get Glasgow on its feet.

His debut album I Created Disco contained his breakthrough smash, Acceptable in the 80’s, but it wasn’t until third album 18 Months that he became the superstar DJ he now is. Including the inescapable We Found Love with Rihanna, it beat Michael Jackson’s record for most top ten hits from one studio album on the UK Singles Chart, with 9 singles racing to the top.

His latest single Summer is the perfect anthem to draw in the sunshine and dream of days spent raving in fields.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend will take place in Glasgow on 23-25 May.
