Carlos Bocanegra’s Spanish move in danger of falling through
Carlos Bocanegra could be back at Rangers next week after it emerged his move to Spain is in danger of collapsing.
The USA skipper’s season-long loan deal with Racing Santander is in the balance because of an administrative botch-up by the second division outfit.
The Spanish FA are now seeking permission from FIFA to rubber-stamp the deal despite a delay in filing the paperwork ahead of the transfer deadline.
If that fails Bocanegra will be back at Ibrox next week. A Gers source said: “There has been a hitch at their end. We’re unsure if the deal has gone through.”
