Chanel boss sends Adele handbags after fat comment
Karl Lagerfeld has reportedly sent Adele a collection of expensive handbags.
The fashion designer sent his Chanel bags as an apology to Adele after he made remarks about her weight in February.
Lagerfeld is said to be hoping to work with the singer on a project in the future, and has sent the collection as a peace offering.
“Karl has been filming for the new YouTube Chanel TV channel and mentioned his plans to patch things up,” a source told The Sun.
“He told his team to send Adele the best the fashion house have to offer after hearing she collected bags. He said he really wanted to make it up to her so they could maybe work together in the future.
“He could see her fronting a campaign for Chanel Mademoiselle bags when the contract with Blake Lively ends. He’s annoyed with himself because he ended up insulting her when he meant to compliment her.
“He thinks she’s beautiful and calls her divine.”
Lagerfeld insisted that his previous comments were taken out of context and that he is Adele’s “biggest admirer”.
Adele responded to his remarks by saying that she is “proud” of her body.
