Chantelle confirms living apart from fiance Alex Reid

Chantelle Houghton has confirmed that she and Alex Reid are living in separate homes.

The reality star admitted that he has endured an “upsetting and difficult week” with rumours the couple have split.

Stories recently emerged in a Sunday tabloid that Chantelle had walked out on Alex after a “catastrophic” argument.

However Alex responded by releasing a statement that denied reports that they had split just a month before their baby is due. The statement on his website, entitled “Alex and Chantelle – happy and together!” – read: “Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton are still very much together and very much in love. Reports in the papers that they have split are untrue.

“Alex and Chantelle are looking forward to the birth of their little girl in June.”

Now Chantelle has followed this up with a statement in her new! magazine column. It said:  “You might have read reports saying that I am sleeping at my flat while Alex has been at our house.

“This is true and I have very good reason for that but I don’t want to go into any more detail because it’s extremely raw right now.

“It’s been a really upsetting and difficult week for me and not the best thing to have to go through when I’m so close to having the baby.”
