Cheryl Cole denies X Factor return

Cheryl Cole has “no plans” to return for next year’s series of The X Factor, despite being tipped to return with a host of other original judges.

Cheryl was apparently being tipped to join part of a ‘back-to-basics’ reboot for The X Factor 2013, after failing ratings seen season 9  – won by James Arthur – received the lowest ratings for a final since 2007.

A representative for Cheryl has said: “Cheryl left the UK X Factor two years ago and has no plans to return.”

A spokesperson added to the Daily Mail: “No decisions will be made on next year’s series until further down the line.”

Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne have also been linked to a return for the ‘back-to-basics’ version of The X Factor, which could reportedly drop the arena auditions and be geared more towards younger viewers.
