Cheryl Cole dismisses claims she mimed on The Voice
Cheryl Cole’s representatives have dismissed claims that she mimed during her performance on the Voice UK on Saturday night.
The singer appeared on BBC One’s live semi-final to perform her new single ‘Call My Name’, prompting some viewers to complain that she appeared to be miming, according to The Sun.
However, her publicist denied the claims, saying: “She sang live with a backing track.”
Cole had reportedly insisted beforehand that she aimed to sing live on the show, with producers fearing that she would need an auto-tuned microphone.
A source added: “It would have been hard for Cheryl to have sung through the whole performance – it was such an energetic dance routine. But I’m sure people will be disappointed if they expected her to sing throughout.”
The live performance saw Cole launch into a 10ft swan dive into the arms of her male dancers.
Cole has also dismissed claims made by Tom Bower that she had tried to manipulate Simon Cowell while on The X Factor.
