Christian Bale visits ‘Dark Knight Rises’ shooting victims in Colorado
Christian Bale has visited the victims of the Dark Knight Rises shooting tragedy in Aurora, Colorado.
The 38-year-old British actor, spent two-and-a-half hours at the Medical Center of Aurora yesterday with five patients admitted to the Colorado hospital.
The Oscar winning star, along with his wife, visited the hospital to talk to patients injured by James Holmes’ massacre last Friday, in which 12 people lost their lives and 58 others were injured.
Warner Bros revealed that the film’s star arranged the trip “of his own accord” and without encouragement from the studio or press, according to The Denver Post.
Bale was able to make the impromptu trip as the cancellation of premieres and press events in Mexico and Japan afforded him the free time.
On Friday, Bale expressed his sympathies for those affected by the tragedy, saying: “Words cannot express the horror that I feel.
“I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”
It was announced on Tuesday that Warner Bros will make a substantial donation to the victims of the Aurora shooting.
One of the survivors of the incident apparently plans to sue Warner Bros and the movie theatrefor the incident after his friend was shot and killed.
