Cowell didn’t want Dannii Minogue relationship revealed
Max Clifford has claimed that Simon Cowell did not want the public to know about his fling with Dannii Minogue.
The X Factor boss was quoted as telling former BBC journalist Tom Bower that his 2008 relationship with Minogue was “genuine love”.
Clifford later confirmed that Cowell “did have a relationship with Dannii” but added that he was wrong to talk to Bower for his book The Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell.
“Simon was on his own at the time and she was on her own, too,” the publicist told The Daily Express.
“There was a natural chemistry between them. It’s not something he wanted to come out now but it has – there is nothing unusual about it at all.”
Of Cowell’s relationship with former fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy, Clifford told Metro: “The only two people who know exactly where that is, is the two of them.
“Obviously they haven’t seen anything like as much of each other in recent times, but I know they still talk a lot on the phone.
“That’s the situation with them, you’d need to speak to both of them to see how they define the relationship right now.”
Minogue was said to be distraught when news of the fling was made public.
The singer and fashion designer recently split from her rugby player partner Kris Smith, with whom she has a son.
