Craig Hamilton joins Tarbes Pyrenees from Edinburgh
Scotland lock Craig Hamilton has joined French Second Division club Tarbes Pyrenees after leaving Edinburgh along with Scott Newlands and Mark Robertson.
The 31-year-old Hamilton signed for the Magners League outfit after exiting Border Reivers in 2007 and made 74 appearances for Edinburgh.
He had previously played for West of Scotland, Glasgow Warriors and Newcastle Falcons.
Flanker Newlands, 25, also arrived in 2007 from the Reivers.
Winger Robertson, 26, is another former Reiver who joined the professional ranks in 2007.
Although Newlands and Robertson made appearances for Scotland 7s, they have not become regulars starters for Edinburgh.
And chief executive Craig Docherty told his club website: “Craig, Scott and Mark have been excellent servants to Edinburgh, showing enthusiasm and professionalism even in those times when they’ve not been playing as many matches as they would have liked or have encountered struggles with injury.
“It’s the nature of professional sport that players come and go and I know I speak for everyone at Edinburgh when I wish these lads all the very best for the next step in their respective careers.”
Former Ireland international Michael Bradley is to take charge of Edinburgh this summer following the sacking of Rob Moffat.
