Derek Hough & Katherine Jenkins get cosy at LA club

She was left ‘beyond broken hearted’ after splitting with fiancé Gethin Jones at the end of December, but it would now seem that Katherine Jenkins has more than a couple of things to smile about – and by looking at recent pics of the singer, it would appear it’s all down to her stint on Dancing With The Stars.

The 31-year-old Welsh singer was spotted getting very cosy with DWTS professional dancer, Derek Hough, as she and some of the other dancers and stars from the show partied at LA hot spot The House of Blues on Monday night.

Katherine is partnered with professional Mark Ballas on the show, while Derek, 26, is teamed with presenter Maria Menounos.

But they only had eyes for each other on Monday, with Derek unable to keep his hands off the Welsh star who was still sporting her black streaky ‘rock’ hair style.

Clutching a can of beer, Derek was seen hugging Katherine who smiled and laughed in delight.

He regularly kept his arms wrapped around the Welsh singer and didn’t appear to pay much attention to the performing band Steel Panther.

Wearing a grey T-shirt, Derek whispered into Katherine’s ear and appeared to kiss her on the cheek at one point.

The pair have recently been spotted out together in West Hollywood, with one source telling the Sunday Mirror that Derek is ‘smitten’ with Katherine.

‘Derek is single and would like to date Katherine, but she wants to take things ­slowly as she only ­recently ended her ­engagement,’ the insider said. ‘They are hanging out all the time and are already close friends.’

They were also seen getting flirting a few weeks ago at Beacher’s Madhouse, a variety show at the Roosevelt Hotel in West Hollywood.

An eyewitness said: ‘They were sitting in the sectioned off area near the front. It was really flirty. They had they’re hands around each other and were rubbing each others backs and holding each others hands behind their backs.

‘There was definitely something there between them. They looked very comfortable together and relaxed in each other’s company.

‘They were with other friends there too, but really they only had eyes for each other.  I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they were an item, they were all over each other.’

But in an interview last month, Katherine addressed rumours she was romantically involved with Derek, claiming they were just ‘good friends.’

She said: ‘There’s a group of us, including Derek, who are in a similar age bracket and will go out most nights after training.’

She also claimed she wasn’t ready to start dating again, adding: ‘Mark and Derek were trying to explain how the dating culture here is different.

‘You can date a few different people at the same time! But I’m happy to have the distraction of dancing. Dating isn’t going to happen.’
