Ed Sheeran’s debut album goes quadruple platinum
Ed Sheeran’s debut album ‘+’ has broken new records, selling over 1.2 million copies in the UK – making it quadruple platinum.
Thanking fans for their support, 21-year-old Ed said: “Very happy to announce my debut album ‘+’ has now gone quadruple platinum in the UK, awesome,” Sheeran tweeted.
The collection has spawned a number of hit singles including ‘The A Team’, ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You’, ‘Lego House’, ‘Drunk’ and ‘Small Bump’.
Hours before announcing his quadruple platinum sales status, the singer-songwriter uploaded an extended version of his single ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You’ for fans.
Sheeran recently teamed up with US country star Taylor Swift in the recording studio to work on new tracks for her upcoming album.
