Edinburgh bring back Steve Lawrie
Edinburgh have strengthened their squad with front row experience and ability by bringing Steve Lawrie back to his home-town club.
The 27-year-old hooker, who spent four seasons with the club between 2005 and 2009, returns to the Scottish capital having captained RFU Championship side Doncaster Knights.
He hopes he can bring extra power and mental strength to the team.
“I am highly ambitious and like to think of myself as a winner,” he said.
He spoke about the “graft and leadership” that he can bring to the Edinburgh Rugby side, adding: “I’m not wet behind the ears any more.
“I had a one-on-one meeting with the new head coach and he seems like a good guy, but I am keen to impress.
“There has been a fair bit of banter already and the guys have welcomed me back. It’s been a warm welcome.”
