Emmerdale Spoiler: Mark Charnock says Christmas episode is a belter
Warning: This article contains spoilers that some readers may prefer to avoid.
Emmerdale star Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle) has promised that the soap has a gripping Christmas episode lined up.
The actor, who plays Marlon Dingle, appeared on This Morning (December 3) and explained that fans can expect a mix of comedy and drama in the show’s festive edition.
“Our Christmas Day is a belter this year. It’s an absolute belter. It’s also got some very, very good comedy in it, particularly from Charlotte Bellamy who plays Laurel.
“There’s some really funny stuff, but the drama’s shocking!”
Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) has been tipped to feature heavily in this year’s Christmas instalments as he murders another one of the villagers in a desperate bid to protect his killer secret.
Charnock also discussed Marlon’s ongoing relationship with Laurel, which has had a mixed reaction from fans as they first became attracted to each other when Laurel was still with ex-husband Ashley.
“I either gets blokes going, ‘Well done mate!’ or women going, ‘Now look…’ I’m getting this moral finger-wagging, or blokes patting me on the back,” said Charnock.
“That’s what you want from a soap, you want it to split your audience. I think generally people root for Laurel and Marlon now. But it’s been a long journey coming.”
Emmerdale continues tonight (December 4) at 7pm on ITV1.
