Entourage movie “a go” says creator Doug Ellin
The Entourage movie has been give the go ahead, according to the show’s creator Doug Ellin.
A film version of the HBO series has been in the works for two years, but the future of the project was recently thrown into doubt over alleged money disputes with the cast, however reports earlier in the week suggested that a deal was close to being reached.
Ellin shared with fans on Twitter on Monday (October 28) that the movie will in fact be produced.
“It’s a go. love you all,” Ellin tweeted.
Jerry Ferrara – who played Turtle in Entourage – also thanked the show’s loyal fans in his own messages on Twitter.
He wrote: “I am proud to announce the #Entourage movie is officially a GO! Have to thank @wbpictures and @HBO for all the support to make this happen!
“On behalf of the 4 guys I wanna also thank the #entourage fans for the patience. The BOYS are BACK. ‘ it always works out’.”
Entourage originally aired for eight seasons between 2004 and 2011 on HBO.
The series earned 25 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, with Jeremy Piven winning the coveted ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series’ prize three times.
