Geordie Shore’s Ricci and Dan not returning for sixth series

Geordie Shore’s Ricci Guarnaccio and Dan Thomas will not be returning for the show’s sixth series.

The pair will leave the reality TV show at the end of the current season, with MTV revealling that neither would be travelling to Australia to film the next series.

Ricci joined the cast during the second series at the beginning of last year whilst Dan joined in the fourth series.

On his exit, Ricci said: “After four series onĀ Geordie Shore, I feel like it’s now my time to finally move on. This past series has been particularly tough for me, especially publically broadcasting my relationship with Vicky, which has definitely had its ups and downs.

“I’m happy now to let Vicky do her thing on the show, and move onto other things for myself, out of theĀ Geordie Shore house.”

Dan said that the series has given him the opportunity to meet “mint people in and out of the house” but he now intends to pursue “exciting personal projects”.

“Geordie Shore continues to be an amazing part of my life… visiting fantastic places and countries. I’m really gonna miss living with everyone as they’re like a second family to me, especially the lads.

“Geordie Shore was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I’m so grateful for having been given such an incredible opportunity by MTV. I’ve decided not to head to Australia with the rest of the crew and am staying in Newcastle where in intend to pursue some exciting personal projects and to continue to chase MILFs!”

Remaining cast members Charlotte, Vicky, Sophie, Holly, Gaz, James and Scott will all appear in the sixth series.

“Filming Down Under is going to be mint! Just like filming in Newcastle but with a perma-tan and a load of shrimps!” said Charlotte.

The fifth series continues tonight at 10pm on MTV
