George Ezra remains top of the UK album chart
George Ezra has retained his place at the top of the UK album chart for a second week with Wanted On Voyage.
The record has now spent 15 weeks inside the Top 10, having claimed number one for the first time last week.
He recently described topping the charts as “amazing,” but admitted he feels uncomfortable with all the fuss.
“Amazing, it feels great,” he said.
“I just don’t know how to react. I think it’ll sink in in years to come, I mean you can appreciate on one level when you just find out, it’s like ‘Oh shit, my album’s No.1, that’s amazing!’ but it feels unreal.
Ezra’s single took a while to reach the top, but instead of being disheartened by his slow rise to the top, the 21-year-old says he actually prefers it that way.
“I love! That’s even better. If i’m honest, there was hype around me, and there’s a lot of people that get hyped up and then, for what? They kind of drop off, and that was on my mind. The one thing that I didn’t want to happen was for it to be one song. It’s heartwarming for me actually, that’s what it is, that people are enjoying the whole thing,” admitted George.
