Gerard Butler signs on for Olympus Has Fallen sequel

Gerard Butler has signed on to star in a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen.

The sequel will be called, London Has Fallen, and will take place in the UK as a US Secret Service agent (Butler), the US president, and the speaker of the House of Representatives are attending the funeral of the British prime minister.

Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman will reprise their roles from the first movie alongside Butler, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger are also returning to pen the movie’s script, although Olympus Has Fallen director Antoine Fuqua will not be back for the second movie.

There is no word yet when production on the sequel will begin.
