Georgina Lennon :: Moritz Wholers...
There’s a lot more to Moritz Wholers than meets the eye, for instance, did you know he has an appreciation for architecture?
“I love to look at old buildings,” said Mo.
“Glasgow is a great city to look at and I’ve been to Edinburgh a couple of times - the buildings there are really interesting, especially the castle.”
He also likes to watch movies; particularly something with meaning and a real story behind it, or to play games on his play station and browse the Internet.
Mo had a busy summer playing for the German national team, which took him to Spain, Portugal and Thailand.
“I went to Thailand to play in the university games,” said Mo “It was a nice experience to play somewhere exotic.”
But not to be swept away by all the excitement, Mo was looking forward to coming back to Scotland to settle some unfinished business in the BBL.
“We came so close last season to winning something so I’m back to help make that happen this year,” explains Mo.
“It’s good to have all the guys back and I think we’re on track to make good and win something this year.”
“We had a bit of a bumpy start but I think the games against Sheffield proved we can pull it together and get that crucial win,” he added.
Finals are something that gets Mo’s blood pumping, as he thrives on the adrenaline.
“I most look forward to playing in a game final because it’s something special, where it’s all or nothing,” says Mo.
“Although every win is crucial, there’s something different about a final.
You play a bit harder and getting that win when it all counts makes it extra special.” And the fans help make that happen according to Mo.
“I hope the fans can continue to come to games and give us the same support as last season,” he says “And in return we’ll do our best to bring home some silverware.
