Grand Theft Auto V Review Round Up

The verdict is in and it looks like Grand Theft Auto 5 lives up to the hype.

DYRT have gathered up the reviews you’ve all been waiting for – in between playing ourselves of course – so that you have all the info to hand, leaving you more time for gaming:

Keith Stuart, The Guardian: “A dazzling but monstrous parody of modern life”

“Grand Theft Auto V hints at a future in which that role is taken by games – or at the very least actively sought by them.                     Unlike the vast swathe of wondrous entertainment the video game industry produces, this series cannot be safely pigeon-holed or ignored by non-players. For the last decade, Rockstar has wielded a sledgehammer over public perceptions of what video games are or can be; now it has struck with merciless force.”

Dan Silver, The Mirror:  “Stick a fork in this generation: it’s done”

“As we stand on the cusp of a new era in console gaming, GTA V isn’t just the greatest entry in one of its great series, it’s also one of the entire medium’s most accomplished and amazing achievements to date.”

Liam Martin, Digital Spy:  “The ability to switch between 3 characters mid-mission is one of GTA 5’s best additions”

“The city of Los Santos and its surrounding countryside is among the most diverse, interesting and visually striking virtual environments that I’ve ever had the pleasure of exploring.”

Adam Barnes, Now Gamer:  “The innovation is GTA 5’s big selling point”

“Though it’ll take up to 30 seconds to switch, it does so almost seamlessly, hiding its loading behind a Google Earth style zoom-in, zoom-out function. It’s all very slick.”
