Homeland’s Mandy Patinkin reveals Criminal Minds regrets
Mandy Patinkin has revealed he regrets his choice to star in US hit show, Criminal Minds.
The Homeland star previously labelled his time on the CBS drama the “biggest public mistake I ever made.”
“I thought [the show] was something very different,” Patinkin said last year.
“I never thought they were going to kill and rape all these women every night, every day, week after week, year after year.”
In a new TV Guide interview, the 60-year-old suggested that Criminal Minds “wasn’t the right fit” for him, adding that he joined the series for “more economic security”.
“I made a choice I didn’t want to make,” he explained. “I pushed myself, thinking I needed more fame, more economic security.
“I schmoozed myself, I brainwashed myself, thinking, ‘It won’t be like that as it goes along’. I didn’t listen to any piece of myself, and I paid the price.”
Patinkin will reprise his role of Saul Berenson in the third season of Homeland, premiering on Showtime on September 29 and on Channel 4 in October.
