I’m A Celebrity: Hugo Taylor and David Haye face first Bushtucker Trial
Hugo Tayor and David Haye became the first stars to get a taste of jungle life as the pair faced the first Bushtucker Trial in this series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Series 12 of the show, which kicks off tonight on ITV, reached startling new heights, as Hugo and David were suspended 100 ft above the jungle in boxes on Saturday.
In a twist to this year’s show, the stars have been split into two camps, neither one knowing who’s in the other.
Croc Creek and Snake Rock both had to pick one member to take part in the first Bushtucker trial, named ‘Special Delivery’, to win food for the team’s dinner that night.
Hugo Taylor, who’s swapped the Made in Chelsea high life for the Australian outback, was Snake Rock’s representative and seemed keen to do his team proud.
While his team mates, Nadine Dorries, Colin Baker, Eric Bristow and Ashley Roberts wished him luck he made his way to the challenge area.
Boxer Davide Haye was nominated to do the same for Croc Creek and joined reality star Hugo for the first Trial.
Both celebs had to enter a large packing crate which was hoisted 100 foot into the air while presenters Ant and Dec looked on.
The sides and bottoms then dropped off the crates, revealing the stars dangling above the jungle in two perplex boxes.
Both celebs then had to try and retrieve as many stars as possible, which were hidden in among an array of different jungle animals including maggots, cockroaches and rats.
While both Hugo and David seemed nervous about the creepy crawlies, they got stuck in, however it was David who took the brunt of it, at one point being showered with a mass of bugs.
“I hope you know I’m allergic to cockroaches by the way. Didn’t I put that on my form,” he joked.
Hugo also seemed traumatised by the trial, saying: “I am never putting myself forward for anything like this ever again.”
I’m A Celebrity..Get Me Out of Here starts tonight on ITV1 at 9pm
